🚫 Week #17: No Trade This Week
For the first time since launching this strategy in mid-July, I’m skipping a weekly QQQ Bull Put Spread.
Why?
Friday’s expiration wasn’t clean. QQQ dropped sharply during the session — at one point, the unrealized loss exceeded $2,000. The spread ultimately expired out of the money, but the intraday pressure was a reminder that even high-probability setups carry risk when volatility spikes.
I screened for spreads that would deliver the usual ~$0.50–$0.55 credit per contract at a safe distance below current price. None met the criteria.
The premiums either required strikes too close to current levels, or the distance didn’t justify the reward. Given the technical backdrop — including Thursday’s sharp selloff and Friday’s volatility — there’s a reasonable chance QQQ continues lower into next week.
I could force a trade. But forcing trades breaks discipline.
So I’m choosing to wait.
The core principle of this strategy is mechanical repetition with consistent parameters — not chasing setups that don’t meet the standard. Skipping one week doesn’t break the rhythm. It protects the system.
🔁 What’s Next
Week #18 (Nov 15–Nov 22) will resume the normal Friday-to-Friday cycle, assuming a clean setup returns.
The 16-0 record stays intact. The strategy continues. Just with one intentional pause.
